Fatal Accident on State Route 3

MT. GILEAD, Ohio --

The Mt. Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Saturday in Knox County.

Troopers were called to state Route 3 in Knox County on Saturday just after 8 p.m. on a one-vehicle crash.

Reports say 27-year-old Joshua Anderson of Mt. Vernon was traveling northbound on S.R. 3 when he drove off the right side of the roadway, striking a culvert.  After impact, the vehicle became airborne and overturned.

Anderson was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to Knox Community Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Seatbelts were not in use at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
